"It's not the load that breaks you down; it's the way you carry it."

- Lena Horne

I want to share something that my therapist shared with me.

Throughout the past couple of months, the main theme of growth in my life has been to find the light within myself. And for so long, I thought this meant finding my purpose and with this, I believed that my purpose was connected to what I do, who I was around, what I wanted, I was telling my therapist that I felt like it was taking so long for me to find my light.

She stopped me and said, "You can't search for what's already there. You have the light in you is already present, it's only refracted."

A lot of times in life we take what we're going through and decide to carry it all inside, which makes our load so heavy. We take this load and let it define who we are and let it misconstrue the understanding of our light. The load doesn't diminish your light, it only refracts it. Your light is just bending in another direction. And the beautiful part is: you are in control of your light.

Today and always, choose the direction your light goes in.

Your load doesn't have to be so heavy.
