”When a poet digs himself into a hole, he doesn’t climb out. He enjoys the scenery, digs deeper, and comes out the other side enlightened.”
- Criss Jamil

Sometimes, we can dig ourselves into dark spaces and allow people, their mindsets, and their words to dig us deeper. We can question our self-worth and our value all because of another person.
But the fact is: some people just aren't kind and some people just are not for us.
No matter how much we may want to help them, it will always backfire because healing is individual. It's foundation is individual. In order to heal, you have to take all those triggers, all those mistakes, and all those memories and face them and accept them within yourself. Other people can't do it for you. Just like we can't force those around us we love to start their healing.
This is where the practice of patience comes in.
Patience allows a moment of quiet to sit and accept that time is ever present and ever moving.
Patience allows a moment to look at our situation and accept it and it's circumstances and a chance to further provide ourselves with the mindset, words, and behaviors that we seek in other people.
Digging yourself deeper is sometimes a choice we make that we don't even realize that we're making. You are in charge of your
own shovel - you don't have to allow negativity to dig yourself a little deeper.
The worth, value, light, and resilience within you deserves so much better.
